ILLUSTRIOUS SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF ILOBU, (VOLUME TWO) 15TH EDITION

How do I put it? Yah… Humility is a key that unscrews all types of nuts. It gives way for a thorough passage amidst crowd; it amplifies one’s voice and makes it loud and clear to listeners. Many a time, it becomes a veritable weapon in the struggle for relevance and acceptability. Thus, when humility is combined as we have in the case of my amiable big brother who is perfectly blessed with not only humility but an unmatched intelligent quotient both in western and Islamic education, brazed with sound moral value and unflinching fear of God, the sky is always a stepping stone to glories. These highlighted qualities have undoubtedly won for him golden spots in the hearts of many people; old, young, professional colleagues, friends and associates.

Alhaji Ishaq Oyewole Awotunde was born to the family of Late Mallam Awotunde Sheu Hamada Tijani Alalamu and Hadjia Awotunde Nimotallah (Iya Oba) of Ologele’s Compound, Ilobu on the 15th of May 1968. He grew up with the Late Alhaji Idriis Olanrewaju Imam of Imam Arohun’s Compound and at a very tender age took to Islamic education. He spent over 20 years at Imam Arohun’s Compound attending Arabic School; Imadu-deen Arabic and Islamic Training Centre, Apiponroro, Ilobu. He later proceeded to Muheenul Islamic Arabic College, Obada, Ede under Late Shiekh Alhaji Mustpha, Ogoro before being tutored by the Late Alhaji Jamiu Omotosho Alurin as directed by Alhaji Abbu-Bakir Olokuta.

With a well grounded foundation in Arabic and Islamic Knowledge, he attended Methodist Primary School, Ilobu and graduated in 1980. He had his Secondary education at Ilobu Secondary Commercial Grammar School, Ilobu and finished in 1985. Alhaji consistently displayed unbending love for western education. Thus, he attended Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife and graduated in 1987. For the love of western education, he went back to the final class at Osogbo Grammar School and passed out in flying colours in 1990. To crown up his zeal for western education, he got admitted to study Economics at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State where he bagged a B.Sc in Economics in 1994. He had his MBA at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2001.

No doubt, Alhaji Ishaq Oyewole Awotunde is a seasoned Civil Servant with the Office of the Auditor General for Local Governments in the State of Osun. He is a member of many professional bodies; Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM)-2001, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Jos Nigeria – 2004, The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACITN) – 2008, Fellow-Institute of Cost and Management Accountant, Kaduna, Nigeria -2011. He is presently a Deputy Director and having worked in all the nooks and crannies of Osun State as Auditor, he has maintained extra ordinary intelligence in the discharge of his duties and swallowed pride very common with people in his category and futher allowed humility to reign supremely in his relationship with people within and outside his work environment.

As one of the founding fathers of Ilobu National Students’ Union, he was the First National Coordinator of the Union when it was formed in 1991, he gave the union the needed sound footing and organized election that ushered in the first National Executive Council members. He later served for four solid years as the Auditor for Ilobu Development Union under the leadership of the late Alhaji Kunle Adegbite. He is also the immediate past President (Ameer); the Companion Group of Muslim Professionals. In showcasing what he is capable of doing, he won for himself the Best Zonal Officer of Year as a staffer in the Office of the Auditor General for Local Governments in the State of Osun in October 2001.

Alhaji Ishaq Oyewole Awotunde is a role model to many upcoming lads, he is a priceless asset to Ilobu Community and a glowing light of hope for many whose sojourn is as rough as his. He personifies determination, excellence in characters and remained undauntedly committed to Ilobu growth agenda.

Alhaji Ishaq Oyewole Awotunde as a quiet achiever, helping many Ilobu natives who come his way and treating any issue that has to do with Ilobu as sacrosanct is therefore presented as an Illustrious Sons of Ilobu Asake worthy of appreciation and celebration.
