ILLUSTRIOUS SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF ILOBU, (VOLUME TWO) 14TH EDITION

In focus today, is a big fish in form, stature and status. He is a personality whose name rules the poultry world across the length and breadth of Osun and beyond though very elusive in nature. He is basically a workaholic; excellently committed to his farm, poultry services and humanity. He is one man that stubbornly defied the traditional rule of being born with a silver spoon before one could climb to the top of the success pyramid. His passion for success and growth is predicated on hard work, perseverance, calculations and planning.

Alhaji Rahaman Tunde Olayiwola hails from Imam Arohun’s Compound, where Islamic and Arabic Knowledge is the family tradition. Ordinarily, one would have expected him to be an Islamic cleric but he chose western education and built for himself an unimaginable fame and success in the poultry world. He had his primary education at A.U.D. Primary School, Laaro in Ilobu and attended Ede Muslim Grammar School, Ede. He had his OND in Electrical Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic Ibadan and later went back to the same school and graduated with an HND in Electrical Electronic Engineering. He observed his National Youth Service in Kaduna.

After his National Youth Service, he was loaded with the determination to be highly independent and serve as not only as a master of himself but as an employer of labour, thereby aspiring to help solve the problem of unemployment in his own little way. He had been in and out of many things, trying to weigh his options and considering the workability and acceptability of his ventures; he was very defiant and stubborn in crossing hurdles, surmounting the insurmountable and running the race of life with total disregard for the pattern with which others adopted in running theirs. With his kind of knack, he was actually in possession of his determination to make it big in life and in a very positive way too. He went into Laundry Services in Ilorin; Perfect Laundry to be specific. After Perfect Laundry failed as result of the work of thieves who broke into his laundry and made away with clothing materials worth millions of naira, he dabbled into many other businesses before finally hitting it big in the poultry industry.

Alhaji Rahaman Tunde Olayiwola started his poultry business on April 1, 1999 from his backyard in Ilorin with just 350 table egg layers. He later relocated to Osun State and established an integrated poultry farm raising pullet and broilers breeders. He is also into producing day-old-chicks and handles consultancy Services at his farm on a large expanse of land at Ojo, Egbedore Local Government in Osun State. To the glory of God, the farm can now boast of over 73,000 breeders, producing eggs for the farm’s hatchery.

Today, as a silent achiever, he has succeeded in helping to put food on the table of many natives and non-natives who have profited from his tutelage on how to rear poultry birds. He has gainfully engaged many youths who could have been roaming the street and constitute themselves into clogs and hinder the peace desirable in our society as workers in his farm. He has silently helped to upturn the lives of many natives who have fallen and ensured that smiles took over their lips again and happiness dwells permanently in their hearts. He is no doubt a good ambassador of Ilobu community, showcasing his expertise in poultry business and consultancy services within and outside the shore of Nigeria. He is proudly the owner and Managing Director of RTO Agric Ltd, Ojo.

Going through his inspirational sojourn to stardom and his unwavering tactical determination to make a remarkable impact in life, which is indeed a source of inspiration to many up-coming ones cum his silent contributions to teach people how to be independent and help solve several undisclosed domestic problems hitting our people below the belt, I make bold to humbly welcome Alhaji Rahaman Tunde Olayiwola (RTO) into the fold of Illustrious Sons and Daughters of Ilobu with a view to presenting him to the whole world for appreciation and celebration as a silent achiever.

Dare Alabi,
Project Director
