He was born in 1942 and started his primary education at St John’s Demonstration School, Owo in 1949 and finished in 1954. He had his secondary education at Imade College, Owo between 1954 and 1960. He proceeded for his Higher School Certificate (HSC) at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School between 1962 and 1963. He taught briefly at Imesi-Ile High School in 1964 before gaining admission to the University of Lagos in 1964.
