ILLUSTRIOUS SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF ILOBU, (VOLUME TWO) 12TH EDITION
This
edition presents a young, dynamic, composed and a master strategist.
His upbringing, training and exposure are such that have helped to bring
to fore a man who never fails in whatever assignment is given unto him.
He is a dependable personality with distinctions in human relation,
group management and project execution. He is
a worthy ambassador of the youth assembly, with tantalizing traits of a
hybrid machine in running strategic errands for his community.
Alhaji Raheem Kolapo Sanusi was born on the 4th of March, 1969. He hails from Akala’s Compound in Ilobu. He started his Primary education at AUD Primary School, Laaro, Ilobu and proceeded to St Paul’s Modern School, Ilobu but when the school transformed to a Grammar School in 1982 as a result of the Late Chief Bola Ige free education policy as the Governor of the then Oyo State, he had to continue the pursuance of a secondary education in the same school. He graduated in flying colours in 1985. His leadership quality started to germinate at the St Paul’s Grammar school; between 1983 and 1985 when he was appointed as the General Captain of the whole school and also, when the students’ parliament was constituted, he was also appointed as the pioneer President of the St Paul’s Students’ Representative Council with a Certificate of commendation from his Principal, Mr. O. A. Awopetu, duly signed on July 7th, 1985 for a job finely executed. He had his “A” Levels at the Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile- Ife between 1985 and 1987.
Surprisingly, his father insisted that he must acquire Arabic knowledge after his “A” Level and in fulfillment of his father’s wish; he enrolled for Arabic Lesson for 2 solid years under the tutelage of the late Imam of Inisa. In 1989, he gained admission to the Department of African Language and Literature now Department of Linguistic, African and Asian Studies, University of Lagos. At the University of Lagos, he did not only do well in his academic activities but participated actively in campus politics; with him are the likes of Malcom X. and Sowore on one side and Dr. Oluwole Alabi, Mayegun and others on the other bloc. He graduated in 1994 and had his NYSC at the Nigerian Airforce Secondary School, Portharcourt , Rivers State, where he served as the State Secretary for the Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria (MCAN) in 1995.
Alhaji Raheem Kolapo Sanusi was one of the founding fathers of Ilobu National Students’ Union in 1991 and the founder of Ilobu Patriotic Group; a social-political group in Ilobu. He had served as member of the Special Tactical Committee of IDU on community affairs for years. He is a member of the Ilobu Concerned Citizens, the powerful Financial Secretary of the Ilobu Central Mosque rehabilitation Committee with the Late Alhaji Babalola Adubi as the Chairman. The committee is responsible for the reconstruction and beautification of the gigantic edifice that stand strategically today at the heart of the town as Ilobu Central Mosque. He was also the Secretary and Managing Editor of the rested Ilobu Asake News ; a publication of IDU, Lagos Branch.
On the 19th of June, 2002, Alhaji Raheem Kolapo Sanusi was appointed as the pioneer Electoral Officer of OSIEC, Irepodun Local government. After the dissolution of the Electoral body in 2003, he was issued a letter of commendation for his brilliant performance and thus won for himself a re-appointment in 2004 (the only Electoral Officer that was re-appointed). And in 2008, the Osun state Government absorbed him into the main stream of the Civil Service and he was posted to the Ministry of Women affairs and Social Development. In 2011, he was posted to the State of Osun House of Assembly as Clerk at the table. He rose to the position of Assistant Director, Legislative Management Department in January 2015. In July, 2016, due to the staff autonomy of the Osun State House of Assembly, he was promoted to the position of the Deputy Director, Legislative Management, Osun State House of Assembly. No doubt, his sojourn his characterized with consistent flashes of brilliant displays, fine execution of jobs with unmatched passion for success. Honestly, he is an inspiration to many up-coming ones and he is a great ambassador of Ilobu community. He is happily married to Hajia Riskat Romoke and blessed with lovely children.
Therefore, considering his immeasurable service to humanity; as a young, dynamic and supersonic errand bearer; particularly tactical issues for Ilobu community, I humbly present Alhaji Raheem Kolapo Sanusi to the whole world for appreciation and recognition as an illustrious son of Ilobu Asake.
