E- LECTURE
This is a compilation of the text of an interactive lecture delivered to an E- Lecture Educational group online (Whatzapps).

THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION TO MAN.
Give education to man and you have given him the opportunity to express his essence of living. Bababtunde Fafunwa, defines education as the aggregate of all process by which man develops abilities and other forms of behavior, which are of positive values to the society.
In order to save our time, let’s go to the core benefits of education to mankind in a short while:
1.       Education grows a nation. An uneducated nation wallows in abject poverty and penury.
2.       Education prepares man for the membership of any group or association. A very good example is this E-Lecture Group. It affords you that flexibility to fit in appropriately wherever you find yourself.
3.       Education no doubt puts food on your table. The fact that it helps to bring out the best in you makes you a potential money maker.
4.       Education buys you respect. Passing through the four walls of a classroom differentiates you from hoodlums, rogues, riffraff etc.
5.       It allows you to adapt to new technology. You are able to flow with the trend of evolution and remained relevant all through your years on planet earth.
6.       Education does not make you an ordinary dreamer. It helps to bring your dreams to reality, thereby helping to shape you into becoming a responsible, reliable and logical being.
7.       Education promotes global peace. Education tends to polish our ways of life, make us to understand the benefits therein in staying in unity and the magnificent loss that awaits us if we try to disturb the peace of the world.
8.       Education toughens your zeal and determination to make it in life. With education, you will be ever prepared and keep trying until success is achieved.
9.       Education buys you equality anywhere. If you are educated, colour, religion and background become irrelevant. You can wine with the Queen of England and rub shoulders with the big and mighty in the world. Example is the President of America; Barak Obama.
10.   Education teaches us to be tolerant. With education, you should understand the concept of individual differences. God did not create us to respond to issues the same way, while some can be soft, some can be harsh, rude and crude in their responses to issues. Your ability to manage other men without fear of abuse absolutely makes you a real man.
11.   With Education, our gross domestic product (GDP) increases as a country. It means every educated person has the ability to work and grow the country; this thus makes life bearable and comfortable for all.
12.   Education erodes baseless belief and superstition in us. An educated person; a well educated person is an encyclopedia of knowledge. He should certainly know what to do at the right time; when to speak, what to speak, where to be, what to eat and do etc.
13.   Education leads to healthy living. Health is not wealth as people erroneously put it. Health is life. It is only when one is healthy that he can be alive to be wealthy or be opportune to make judicious use of his wealth. Many people die today as a result of ignorance; lack of knowledge, lack of formal education and thus minor ailment send them to the cemetery.
14.   Education teaches you how to avoid public disgrace and embarrassment. You know when to move away from things that will put either temporary or permanent stain on you.
15.   Finally, by way of summary, with education, man is given a lifeline to be independent and self sustained. He should be equipped with all the needed tools and strategize to make things work legally in his favour. With education, life is merrier, better and the world is considered a better place to live in.
I thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Thanks.
Dare Alabi,
